A general contractor brings a range of skills and services to a construction project. Some of the key responsibilities of a general contractor include:

• Scheduling and coordination: A general contractor will create a schedule for the project and coordinate the work of all subcontractors to ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget.

• Obtaining permits and inspections: A general contractor is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and arranging for all required inspections.

• Quality control: A general contractor will ensure that all work is performed to a high standard and that all materials used meet the necessary specifications.

• Problem-solving: A general contractor will be able to respond to unexpected issues that arise during the construction, they will evaluate the problem, come up with a solution and implement it, this could include design changes, budget adjustments, or delays.

General contractors oversee all the aspects of a construction project, they are the primary point of contact between the homeowner and the various subcontractors working on the project, they take care of all the logistics, scheduling, and budget management which allows the homeowner to focus on the design and the final outcome of the construction.
